The OE knob weights around 100g, the collar around 7g, so all together 107g vs Raceseng knob/adapter at 301g.Īnyhow here are some install pictures. I think it looks and integrates so much better with the R's interior, it also looks and feels more ergonomic that the BFI (none of their "coins" appealed to me either). I am so glad that I chose Raceseng over BFI. I'll report tomorrow when I'll actually drive it. I haven't driven it yet but it falls in gears really good without much effort. Unfortunately pictures don't do it justice, it looks waaay better in real life. The Raceseng knob sits at about the same height as the OE knob (exactly what I wanted), it feels great in the hand and it totally looks like it belongs in the R. I used a heat gun and trim removal tool to soften the tabs and gently push them out, it came off without any drama and I can still reuse ALL of the original parts if I ever need to reinstall the OE knob. Didn't break any tabs on a plastic factory collar that bind the shifter to the boot. Everything went as planned without any hiccups. Installation was a breeze, 15 maybe 20 min tops.
